Frequently asked questions
Submitting cards
How do I submit a card for grading?
Go to Submit Cards, choose your service level, enter your card details and check out. You'll get an email with a CYA number and tracking code for each card, plus packing and shipping instructions. You can also tap Submit for Grading on a card in the app.
What service levels do you offer?
We offer four service levels. Coverage is the most we'll cover per card if something happens while it's in our care, so choose a level whose coverage meets your card's declared value.
-
Bulk: $39.99 per card · 60 calendar days · $500 coverage · AI grading and human validation, to the same CYA standard; 25-card minimum
-
Silver: $49.99 per card · 30 calendar days · $500 coverage · AI grading, human validation, DigiGrade Report
-
Gold: $69.99 per card · 15 business days · $1,500 coverage · AI grading, human validation, DigiGrade Report
-
Platinum: $99.99 per card · 5 business days · $2,500 coverage · Everything in Gold, plus priority processing, Black Box service, foil-wrapped graded card and surprise reveal
Is there a limit on card value?
Cards with a declared value over $2,500 need a quote before you ship. Email support@cyacardgrading.com with the card's details and declared value, and we'll send you a quote.
Is return shipping included?
Return shipping is a separate flat fee of $14.99 per order, which covers the carrier and insurance on the way back to you.
Can I cancel or get a refund?
Before we receive your cards, we refund your grading fees and return shipping, minus payment processing fees. After we receive them, refunds are partial or not available depending on how far your order has gone. See Section 4 of our Terms and Conditions, or email support@cyacardgrading.com with your order number.
What kinds of cards do you grade?
We currently grade sports cards. Trading card games, including Pokémon, Yu-Gi-Oh! and Magic: The Gathering, are coming soon.
Tracking your card
What's the difference between my order number and my CYA number?
Your order number covers your whole checkout. Each card gets its own CYA number, so you can follow every card separately.
What's a tracking code, and why do I need it?
Your tracking code is a private 8-character code, like K7M2-Q9XP, sent in your registration email. Together with your CYA number, it lets you, and only you, see your card's status. Keep it private, and don't put it in your package.
How do I check my card's status?
Use Track My Card in the CYA Card Grading app, or the Track Order page. Enter your CYA number and tracking code.
I lost my tracking code. What should I do?
Email support@cyacardgrading.com from the address you ordered with, and include your order number.
Grading and reports
How do you grade cards?
Every card gets AI-assisted analysis and is then physically checked and validated by a human grader, to the same CYA standard at every service level.
What's a CYA DigiGrade Report?
Your report shows your card's final grade and condition, a total score out of 1,000, and scores for centering (out of 150), corners (220), edges (200), surface (330) and print (100). It also includes the analysis summary, any deductions, and the human validation note.
Can anyone look up a graded card?
Yes. Anyone can verify a finished grade by entering its CYA number on the DigiGrade Report page. This helps buyers confirm a card is genuinely CYA-graded. Reports show card and grade details only, never your name or contact information.
The app
Is the CYA Card Grading app free?
Yes. Submitting cards, tracking them, viewing your reports and 10 card scans a month are free. CYA Pro is $14.99 a month or $149.99 a year, with a 7-day free trial. It adds card values, unlimited collection tracking, 250 scans a month and 5% off every card you send us for grading. "Should I Grade?" is $0.99 per card for everyone, paid in the app.
Is a scan in the app an official grade?
No. A scan identifies your card and estimates its condition from photos, to help you decide whether to grade it. Photos can hide flaws, so only a card we've physically graded gets an official CYA grade.
How do I get the best scan?
Use bright, even light with no glare, take the card out of top loaders and thick holders if you can, fill the frame with the card, and add a photo of the back. The back has the year and card number.
Do you offer a military or first responder discount?
Yes. Through the CYA Salute Program, active-duty military, Guard and Reserve, veterans, military spouses and first responders get 10% off grading fees. Email support@cyacardgrading.com with "Salute Program" in the subject and a photo of your ID (numbers covered), and we'll send you a personal code.
